The João Pessoa Square is located at the center of Rio Tinto’s town, where the main historic buildings that originated the town are located. Surrounding it, it is possible to observe the edified set, with its well-outlined apparent bricks, that originated the urban nucleus and made possible the operation of the town- factory, as the still preserved houses of the worker’s village and other constructions like the church, movie theater and recreation club. One can also find the statue in honor of Frederico João Lundgren, founder of the town.
