The Matrix Church of Our Lady of Penha, located at the city’s central area, is the main catholic edification on Baía da Traição. It is the organizational parish of the catholic religion, on the region, being responsible for the rites and celebrations on the chapels located at the Potiguara villages, on the Counties of Baía da Traição and Marcação. The feast of Our Lady of Penha is celebrated on the second Sunday of January.
