The old canons, today found at Forte beach, in Baía da Traição, are artillery pieces of the Fort, constructed by the Portuguese on the historic location of Alto do Tambá, from where it was possible to uncover and defend the coast and the cove of Baía da Traição. The fort was mounted by soldiers from the Santa Catarina Fort, in Cabedelo, and gunshiped with iron pieces, from Portugal, it is believed around 1625.
